Although all of the sports at the University of West Virginia are important, Football and Basketball are the most followed, and have been the most successful in school History! The West Virginia University athletic program also has the honor of being the only school in the nation in 2007 to win a BCS game, a NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament game, and a NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament game.
With 15 Conference Championships in football and a Bowl Game record of 3-0, the tradition and success of the football team is evident! Combined Men's and Women's Basketball boast 33 NCAA Tournament appearances, 16 All-Americans, and 13 players drafted, it's not hard to see that Basketball at the University of West Virginia is just as successful!
